[In Mandarin, jasmine tea is 茉莉花茶, where 茉莉花 is jasmine flower (茉莉 is jasmine and 花 is flower), and 茶 is tea.
But in Cantonese it's more often referred to as 香片, where 香 is fragrant (same as the first character in Hong Kong 香港, fragrant harbor) and 片 is piece or in this case specifically flake as in flakes of tea, so 香片 is fragrant flakes of tea.
Jasmine tea is green tea scented with jasmine blossoms.
