馬拉 sounds like Malay, and 糕 is cake, so 馬拉糕 is Malay cake.

A steamed sponge cake made with brown sugar. It's a Hong Kong dessert, not actually Malaysian, but possibly of Singaporean derivation (and therefore possibly inspired by British sponge cakes).
