茶葉蛋

茶葉 is tea leaves(茶 is tea, 葉 is leaf), and 蛋 is “egg, so 茶葉蛋 is tea leaves egg.

Tea eggs are boiled then cracked then boiled again or soaked in a mixture of soy sauce, tea, and spices. Also known as marble egg as the cracked shells create a marbled appearance.
