Taiwanese cuisine, thoughly largely derived from waves of migration from mainland China, from the early Hakka, to those who fled the Chinese civil war at the end of World War II, and later, is also influenced by the indigineous people of Taiwan, Japanese cuisine (dating from the period of Japanese rule), and various international sources.
